COMMUNITY 5K WALKS

October 24, 2026 9:30 am - 1:00 pm EDT

WHY WE WALK

Since 1970, the rate in WHICH Black and Brown patients have been diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) has increased by 135%. That’s 3x higher than White patients (39%) making it critical to spread awareness about signs and symptoms.

If diagnosed early, it potentially lowers the risk of managing IBD in a more severe state!

As patients, walking can provide health benefits like reduced inflammation and improved physical and mental health; especially for patients in lower to moderate states of IBD.

So we walk! Join us on Oct. 24th! Walks will be hosted at 9:30am across all time zones.

Community Walk Details

In 2025 we hosted our first In Living COGI 5K Community Walk with over 400 participants across 12 cities in support of Crohn’s and Colitis Awareness Week. We walked almost 3 million steps to show our community that we are committed to advocacy, including our own health.

This year we’re bringing back our Community Walks in 10 cities, giving our community members a chance to connect with one another! We have walking leads in each city who will lead your group while discussing life, IBD, and more. Scroll down to see if we’re walking in your city and come out to support!
